We recently visited Temple ISD's "Excellence in Education" vendor fair and received a lot of questions about or Sensory/Magnet bottles. Our homemade bottles were a hit at our summer pop-ups as well with all ages!
Below you can find instructions on how to create your own at home. We used this blog post as a guide to create our bottles. Materials needed:

The possibilities are endless with sensory bottles. Add Glitter to your baby oil for a fun twist and eye catching sparkle, or throw in some metal washers with the colored rice and use the magnets to seek them out. Some tips from our founding board member Ashley Heinrich on constructing your bottles: "The baby oil is key to keeping your metal objects from not rusting, the glitter helps to mask any discoloration on the bottle that could be caused by the oil." "I think the colored rice really works best for longevity purposes."

When I was in high school, I loved doing all kinds of science experiment. Being part of the biology club allowed me to make use of our school's laboratory. In my time there, I was able to formulate and experiment, my favorite was in the field of animal anatomy. We dissected a lot of frogs back then, It was fun knowing how other species' bodies function. This might have been the reason why I continued to pursue my medical degree.

It was really fun doing different science experiment during elementary and high school. I am missed doing it weather as individual or group activity. Every time we do it successfully I felt like we are genius students. I love the feeling of finishing it perfectly. Now that I am a mom already, I am just helping my kids with their projects in school. I give them ideas that I have done when I was their age and they like it. And I am glad. Though I miss being student I am happier being a mom.
