Mission
Our mission is to create a community which sparks the creativity and curiosity of young children through hands-on learning and interactive play.

Vision
To provide a place where families can engage in play that inspires a love of learning, with a significant focus on interaction between parents/adults and children.  Rather than focusing on observation, the exhibits engage families in collaborative experiences. Our vision is to grow into a destination museum that meets the needs of the local community, draws in seasonal visitors from neighboring cities and attracts travelers off Interstate Highway 35, thus contributing to the overall revitalization and economic growth of Temple.

Background Information
Susan Chandler developed the idea of Temple Children’s Museum through visiting similar museums and her time spent volunteering at Austin Children’s Museum. When she and her family relocated to Temple, she knew there was a need for hands-on learning.  In early 2016, Susan began recruiting like-minded individuals in the community from her moms' group and son's preschool. The founders started meeting regularly to develop the idea into a reality.
